ESSENTIALLY Yours

I seem to have become obsessed with essential oils as of late. Is there an oil for that? With the endless list of benefits, there is no question as to why you shouldn’t use Essential Oils. Use them on your skin, a few drops in your bathwater diffused around your bedroom for better quality sleep . . . The list is endless.

LAVENDER OIL
Botanical name: Lavandula Angustifolia
The powerhouse of essential oils. Brimmed to the top with anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting, and antiviral benefits. Over the years I have found that Lavender oil helps reduce my anxiety. Maybe it could work for you too?

MARJORAM OIL
Botanical Name: Thymus Mastichina
When I’m feeling overwhelmed, I like to add a few drops of Marjoram to my bathwater. It’s also useful for releasing muscle tension, and I find that it helps aid digestion.

BERGAMOT OIL
Botanical Name: Citrus Bergamia
After a lot of research, I found that bergamot oil is a great add on to lower your blood sugar levels and it reduces fatty deposits.

PEPPERMINT OIL
Botanical Name: Mentha Piperit
The peppermint scent is invigorating and leaves a lingering ‘freshness’ everywhere you use it. I use peppermint oil to aid in digestion and relieve headaches.

LEMON OIL
Botanical Name: Citrus Limon
Another zesty, rejuvenating oil packed with a high concentration of D-limonene. Lemon oil energizes me and can be used as an antifungal and antiseptic. I also find that the scent of lemon oil has a soothing effect on my mood. Studies have shown that the vapor from lemon oil has anti-depressant qualities. Feeling like you need a pick me up? Diffuse some lemon oil around your living room.

CINNAMON OIL
Botanical Name: Cinnamomum Zeylanicum
Last but not least, cinnamon oil. This Far East import has many health benefits that date back to 1550 BC, where cinnamon was traded as a luxury spice. It aids in clearing chest colds and relieves stiff muscles after intense workouts.
