How to set goals you’ll achieve this year

It’s that time of the year again where people are starting an extreme workout regime trying to achieve their new year’s resolutions. But in my experience I have learned that keeping it realistic and consistent is the way to go.

Turn over a new leaf and set achievable goals for yourself in any area of your life whether it be career, personal relationships, or life goals.

Changing your entire life can be a huge undertaking in one sitting. Instead set small achievable goals that you will be able to consistently work at. Make a concrete plan and work towards it every day or week. Scientific studies have proven that it is the progress towards your goals that makes you happy and not necessarily perfecting them.

Plan ahead of time. If its fitness related them schedule your workouts in as if they were important meetings with yourself. The only way you’re going to see a difference is if you work at it everyday. Plan for success and make sure your mindset is on achieving!

Anticipate that there will be a few speed bumps along the way. If you can prepare for setbacks mentally, you will be less likely to be sidetracked from a long term vision. This will also challenge your ability to handle stress properly.

Start Now! Not next Monday or tomorrow. The more you delay the more you deny yourself of achieving absolute happiness.

I am a huge believer in manifestation. If you put your dreams and aspirations out into the universe, the universe will bring it right back to you in one form or another. Set aside some time early in the morning or towards the end of the day after enjoying a beautiful sunset and write down our goals. Put them out there, and believe that they will come true. The world is a pretty magical place. The first step is for you to believe in it.

Some books I have read that have helped me on my journey in manifestation are:

  • Manifesting: The Secret behind the Law of Attraction
  • The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success: A Practical Guide to the Fulfillment of Your Dreams
  • Metahuman: Unleashing Your Infinite Potential
