Under the direction of Demna, Gucci Resort 2027 marked a sharp return to the language of power dressing, urban glamour, and controlled sensuality. Presented in New York, the collection moved between oversized tailoring, narrow pencil silhouettes, severe outerwear, liquid evening dresses, and exaggerated fur proportions that recalled the house’s late-1990s intensity through a colder, more contemporary lens. Referred to internally as “GucciCore,” the collection introduced a colder and more confrontational vision for the house under Demna’s direction. Rather than leaning into nostalgia directly, the runway proposed a harder vision of luxury — one grounded in authority, seduction, and the tension between polish and realism.
